The 5 days Rwanda and Uganda double gorilla tracking involves meeting two different Gorilla families, one in Rwanda and another in Uganda. This experience gives you a chance to deeply explore the different behavior of Gorillas in their natural state. Bwindi has the highest number of population of Gorillas in the world with 21 fully habituated gorilla families while Volcanoes National park comes second with 10 habituated Gorilla families.


Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will arrive early enough or be picked from your Hotel in Kigali on this day and be transferred to Volcanoes National park that is located in the North of Rwanda. You will drive through the beautiful countryside enjoying the views of the rolling hills. There will be stopovers at local markets for some fruits as you proceed towards Volcanoes National Park arriving in the evening hours. Check in at the lodge, have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking at Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at the lodge on this day, you will head to the park offices with your driver and join other travelers for briefing at 7am. You will then hit the jungle with a team of ranger guides and begin the search for habituated Gorillas. This exercise will take you any period between 1-6 hours or even more depending on the movement of the Gorillas and the fitness of the trackers. After meeting the Gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one full hour with them as you take pictures of these giant apes. You will there after return to meet your guide and drive to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on the journey transferring to Bwindi through Kigali city and later to Gatuna border crossing to the pearl of Africa. The journey will take you more than half a day before you arrive at Bwindi impenetrable forest in the evening. Check in at the lodge, have dinner later and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking at Bwindi National Park

Breakfast will be served very early to enable you catchup with briefing at the park offices conducted by the ranger guides. You will be allocated a gorilla family and be led into the thick forest to fi d them. Look out for the silverback during this trip and learn how it is leading the entire family. After a whole hour encounter with the Gorillas, you will be led to the starting point to meet your driver guide to return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Return to Kigali for departure

After breakfast this day, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kigali city for your final flight.
